Air Supply Detroit Concert reviews
Air Supply - timeless legends
We had an amazing time watching Air Supply at the YouTube theater on July 30, 2022. The venue was perfect: safe, clean, great acoustics (too loud at some point), efficient system for entering and exiting, and accessible. The opening act was incredible. She did a great job. She reminds me of Adele. Fans were relatively behaved. The foursome in front of us were too loud (they were drunk) but tolerable (even with my shushing). Of course, Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock were super fantastic. It’s unbelievable how their music and talent (and friendship) have lasted over 47 years! Kudos to them and their band and may they be around performing still for more years to come.
Air Supply Concert - Just OK
Love Air Supply; love the music; the concert, though, was just OK
Russell has a beautiful voice, but he needs to rest it in between sets - which were numerous (at least 5 or 6). The lead guitarist (Aaron McLain) was amazing and, of course, needed to be featured but sooooo many many times. The drummer (Pavel Valdman from Czech Rep) was exceptional, and was appropriately featured in the intro and again toward the end. The worst “filler” was Graham. He has a wonderful English voice but he explained that Russel was resting his voice and having tea and Graham seemed to be reciting the Wiki on how they met and formed Air Supply etc etc. He just went on and on. No one around us was at all interested and were just being obnoxious through it. In another break he introduced everyone associated with the show, including every stage hand, etc. Just another stall tactic. If you skipped all the stalling, the show would have been half as long.
We were in the 27th row on the floor and had a fifty-something year old mother with her 4 drunk and exhibitionist daughters in front of us. As far as we could see in front of us, no other concert goers were worse.
But the music was great
AMAZINIG Concert! Air Supply is legendary!
The concert at the Lynn Auditorium was fantastic, as the band did live up to its stellar reputation. The audience was enthralled, enthusiastic, and entertained. Both singers absolutely gave it their best! I am amazed at how the talent, energy, and lively love songs were performed.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the concert. Every aspect of the concert, from theatrics, to sound, to even lyrical quality, and poetry were another level of awesome. Thank you Air Supply for this truly amazing experience. We (my wife and I) are truly grateful for the opportunity to see the superb sound quality that is Air Supply. The concert was perfect for us. There are too many superlatives here, sorry. Air Supply completely astounded me with their performance Saturday night. Thank you Air Supply!
